Knit Commission

Operation Baby Dress is in effect!! Made great headway this weekend on this 1 year old size baby dress from Debbie Bliss' "Cotton Knits for all Seasons". I'd say that's about 10 hours (conservatively) of work. This photo was taken on Tuesday morning. As of Tuesday night I have nearly completed this panel, which will be the back of the dress...

And then, I start the front, which is the same as the back... Another 10 hours?! Yikes...

All for $60. I'm so cheap. But I didn't have to buy the yarn, so it was kinda fun to shop for yarn on someone else's dime. And along with the $60 I should get a photo of an adorable one year old in my dress... and that is worth something too.

Next Project... Among others

Mine will be white with pink nose and feet.

Rockin' Baby!

I'm on a roll. I just finished this baby hat (teeny tiny baby) last night... it's called the "Fixie" courtesy of a blog called "Stitch Marker." Her picture is on the right, mine is on the left, pictured here on a grapefruit instead of a baby... don't have one on hand today...

Of course, the parents of the baby who wears this hat will have to have an excess of personality, as it is not your average babywear... Anyone know a woman who's just a little crazy and ready to pop?

Finishing the Hat

Today I finished a hat that I started... might as well have been started at the beginning of time. At some point, while cleaning up for a dinner party or something, it got tossed in boredom into the "unfinished project pile". Last night I dug it out because I wanted to use the needles for something else. Figuring I was more than halfway through already, I decided to finish it instead of tossing it. A good decision, don't you think?

A finished hat and a new post for my blog.
