Much Business

Yes my friends, another odessa, this one made with Misti Baby Alpaca in a wonderful lavendar blue. This one has someone's name on it. Who do you think it might be? Is it you?

And a felted purse. My first. It is made with Cascade 220 in a cool blue/green/purple heather. 24 hours and done! Perhaps a gift... Not sure yet. I have a few of you in mind...

Here's the before (in front of me in my work clothes):

Here is during (in front of me in my pjs... yes, I did sleep in my Costco cashmere sweater, so cozy!):

And here is the best after shot:

It is the size I intended, just right for a wallet, a phone, some keys and a lip gloss. Felting magic. I must felt more.

I have also been tagged with a "Meme", which I put in quotation marks because it is the first that I will have done on this blog, but in case you don't know the activity by this name, you will recognize it when you see it...

“THE RULES:Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”

1) I like to make notes in my cookbooks about when I made each recipe and what I changed about it and who I fed and whether we liked it. I do the same in my knitting recipe books.

2) I used to have a South African penpal. We wrote a few times. She was so sweet. She sent me a photo of herself. I sent her a package of stuff that I like, a tape, some pictures, I don't remember what else... and I never heard from her again. I hope the package reached her. I hope she is okay.

3) I cut and color my own hair (my dad says "often").

4) I lived in England for a year. At the University of Kent in Canterbury.

5) Starting in England, I smoked for 5 years. I have stopped now, and haven't had one in 2 years and 7 months.

6) I used to pretend to run away by hiding in my closet. I wanted to see how long it would take someone to go looking for me. I always got bored before that and came out.

I will tag some people later this afternoon, can't think of it right now... too busy with 10 year reunion planning business (yipes, it's Saturday).

And then, the Jaywalker contest. Coming today. I promise!

That would be the genius of the one-handed, long-arm self portrait... Thank you thank you!

Remember long ago... two of our favorite words were "pancake" and "mantequilla"?

You can add "alpaca" to that list...
